A Message From Our President

The
New York State legislature intiated legislation in 1885 which
would ultimately lead to the creation of the Adirondack State
Forest Preserve in upstate New York.
This remarkable achievment led to the establishment of a 6 million
acre "Forever Wild" preserve (the Adirondack Park) which
today is larger than all of Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon,
Great Smokey and the Everglades National Parks combined.
Today, we call this park our home and we live and breathe the
natural beuaty of the Adirondacks 365 days a year!
As concerned citizens of this remarkable preserve we are individually
and collectively responsible for its continued protection and
conservation.
Like all great parks, the Adirondacks represent a microcosm and
mirror image of the worlds ecosystem.
Our ability to successfully manage and protect this unique environment
on a local level reflects to what degree we can succeed on a global
scale.
In this respect, regardless of who you are or where you live,
the earth is our shared park and its destiny depends on you.
We must now all become conservationists with a shared mission
to save this planet.
Respectfully,
Rob Grant
President
